Featured in this lot is this professionally framed Tom Perkinson (1940-2017) watercolor painting titled, "Summer Night". American artist Tom Perkinson was well-known for his depictions of the American West and landscapes. He was born in Oklahoma in 1940, and he lived most of his life in New Mexico, where the natural beauty and rich cultural history served as sources of inspiration. Perkinson is well known as a master of the Western landscape genre and has had his work displayed in numerous exhibitions and galleries across the United States. His works are held in numerous public and private collections, including the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. He was a member of the Cowboy Artists of America, and in 2017, Perkinson passed away. "Summer Night" shows a town in the distance being illuminated by a large full moon. There are some lights on in the distance in some houses. The foreground shows a large field with a run down wooden fence. The painting shows vivid colors, and great attention to detail and is framed in a white wood frame and double matted with white matting paper. The back of the frame shows the title in pencil reading, "Summer Night". The painting and frame show good condition overall with no signs of wear or obvious damage present. The visible painting measures 13 3/8" L x 18 1/2" W, while the entire piece measures 21" L x 26" W.
