Unique chance to own Tom Mix's Colt Single Action Army, serial number 147204, with a 4 3/4 " inch barrel chambered in .41 colt manufactured in 1892. Tom Mix was a famous early Western film star would ultimately appear in 291 films. This Single Action Army was given to William O. Mueller by Tom Mix in 1930 after first meeting in 1920. Col. Mueller and Mix remained friends until his death in 1940. Single Action shows a light grey patina with some surface oxidation noted on the barrel. Markings and stamps are still visible and readable. Action functions correctly and indexes properly with a tight lock up. Grips are good with no cracks noted, checkering is worn and smooth to the touch. Bore still has strong rifling left with some frosting and pitting noted in the grooves. Serial numbers are matching, loading gate part number is 299. With this Colt Single Action comes a Stetson cowboy hat belonging to Tom Mix! Overall, very good condition for a personal hat worn by an actor and cowboy.
