The piece displays a sturdy steel frame, scale bed, sliding counterweight system, and mobile cart. The scale is designed to be accurate to the ounce, with a total weight of fifty pounds on the scale face before using the counter balance. The face of the piece is marked "Toledo Reg U.S. Pat. Office No Springs - Honest Weight Toledo Scale Company, Toledo, Ohio, U.S.A." across the center with "Weight Control 1 Ounce Graduation" towards the bottom. The center of the piece shows an indicator arm attached to a set of weights and pulleys. The front of the scale shows a metal plate with patent numbers. The front of the piece shows a locking lever to lock the scale bed. The piece shows good condition overall, with some wear due to age and use. The scale measures 79" tall by 24 1/4" wide and 29 1/4" deep.
