Whenever I would go to visit my son in Florida,I would buy southern pottery along the way.I am running out of room so have decided to list a few pieces I have. This is a wonderful Face jug by Chester Hewell. This has a tobbaco spit finish. It is incised on the bottom and is not dated but has the letters CSA incised but not sure what that stands for.He is from Gillsville,Georgia. He is the son of Grace Nell/Harold,and dad of Matthew/Nathanial.I may live in Wisconsin but I love this very artful, wonderful Folk Art.As most of the Southern pottery the teeth are made from pieces of rock, etc. and the eyes are also made seperate. No chips or cracks in this piece.Stands 121/2" tall. These pieces are not all that old but I believe they are a good investment for future Folk Art collectors also.
