For your consideration is a set of Tlingit Inuit spruce root woven bowls with walrus ivory fetish carvings. The bowls are made of very tightly wound spruce root made by the Tlingit people. Native to the Pacific Northwest and southeastern Alaska, the Tlingit are tied very close to their spiritual beliefs and as such most of their every day items are adorned with artwork imbued with spiritual power. Within the two bowls are fetishes carved from walrus ivory. One depicting a whale fluke and the other showing a finely detailed eagle head. Both bowls are in great shape and measures 5" in diameter.
