Postal clerk serving aboard the Titanic (1875–1912) who was lost in the sinking. ALS signed “Wm. Gwinn,” four pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse letterhead, May 4, 1904. Letter to Florence Rohde. In part: “My hours at the office are changed and I’m working at night for a while, so of course I can’t call at your house in the evening, if I would. About the only time I can see you now is in the afternoon.” In fine condition, with mild toning. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Gwinn’s hand.
