Titanic Underwater Set Porthole Prop
Titanic Underwater Set Porthole Prop - For his mega-blockbuster (and 11 time Oscar winner) "Titanic", James Cameron built the largest underwater set in movie history at Rosarito, Baja California Norte, Mexico. It was massive sections of various sets of the interior of the ship which could be flooded. Having become an expert in underwater production, especially in his epic sci-fi "The Abyss", Cameron learned that in order to retain such sets over long periods of time, virtually everything on the set had to be made of cast iron, special rust-proof metals and concrete, and other ultra-heavy materials so that they would not become weaken by the water. This is a grand example and a wonderful display piece for "Titanic" collectors and fans. It is a metal and glass porthole from the underwater set. (Approx. 15" x 13").
