Capital & Counties Bank, Limited Titanic Relief Fund check, 8 x 4, filled out and signed in another hand and stamped “Titanic Relief Fund,” payable to Mrs. M. A. Nile for twelve shillings, stamp-dated January 1, 1917. An ink cancellation through signatures, pencil mark to upper portion and some scattered light toning and soiling, otherwise fine condition. Edith Nile Peacock was a Third Class passenger on the Titanic who died when the ship sank. Peacock was the daughter of Mary Ann Nile. The Titanic Relief Fund was established to assist survivors and the families of the victims.
