Titanic Original Iceberg Chunk Movie Props
Titanic - Original Iceberg chunk. Size approx. 5 X 3 X 3 inch. This is the largest piece that was left over taken from the deck of the titanic after it hit the Iceberg. This item comes with a letter of provenance and two photos of the Titanic Ship and iceberg and the person who obtained the iceberg piece (He was the lighting expert on the film and also worked behind the scenes in the filming of the movie. The photos have info on the item and the signed info from the person who obtained all these items.). His name is David Defino who is an academy award winning Effects Artist and the Foreman of Gene Young Effects Studio. To his knowledge, this is the largest remaining piece of the iceberg and may be the only remaining piece of the iceberg left. When the iceberg was hit by the ship in the film, the iceberg broke into many very small fragments. The is the only one found, which had landed directly on the deck of the ship and was still in a large enough size to be saved. Mr. Defino also includes a story of working on the production in his note. James Cameron was not happy with the amount of items falling out of the ship, so he had Mr. Defino search the stores in the area to find as much doll furniture as he could buy and bring back to the set. They then re-filmed the scene with himself and another colleague on each side of the ship throwing out pieces of doll furniture to simulate the interior of the ship pouring out of it during the final moments before the ship sank on camera. This scene made it to the final cut of the film.(7x4) (5x2)
