Tintype photograph of gentleman in business suit holding unusual knife pistol, circa 1850s-60s. Inventor’s often photographed themselves with their invention for patent disputes. The image measures approx. 2-5/8” x 2” and is in good condition with normal aging. The case is embossed leather and fair to good with aging. The knife pistol is of the very large size, unusual shape and is of a type we or no other expert can identifyother than it appears to be American and early cartridge. Est.: $500-$1,500.
