Civil War tintype of Union soldier. The subject is framed in a bust, wearing his kepi with a buckled strap. He looks to be quite young, with a very round, clean-shaven face that has been tinted pink. The square tintype is affixed to the back of a sturdy card with an oval frame around the 1.25'' x 1.5'' portrait. On the front of the frame is a printed design with elaborate decoration resembling a hanging chandelier. On the verso is an uncancelled blue 2 cent stamp. Wear to one corner, otherwise excellent condition.
