The US-American contemporary artist Tim White-Sobieski is mainly known for his experimental videos. This is a photographic work of his that is titled ‘Terminal 1’. Depicted is a close-up view of a scene at an airport. The artist blurs the depicted and thereby creates an interesting piece that is half abstract and half objective. The photograph is part of the series ‘TERMINAL’ (‘Terminal III’ – ‘Terminal Dream’).



The work is signed and dated on the photograph in touch-up pen lower right ‘Tim White 2003’, and titled and numbered alike lower left ‘Terminal 1/5’. A copy of a signed certificate by the artist is enclosed. The photograph is laminated on an aluminum board and sealed with acrylic glass. The photograph is in good condition; merely the surface of the acrylic glass shows some scratches and remains of glue. The dimensions are 40.3 x 61.1 cm.



Tim White-Sobieski (b. 1961)

Tim White-Sobieski studied at the New York University and at the Parsons School of Design in New York. White-Sobieski has participated in a number of international exhibitions, for example the Prague Biennale 2003, the Lyon Biennale 2003 and the Bucharest Biennale 2004. Works by the artist are in the possession of the collections of for example the Academy of Arts Berlin, the Foundation Louis Vuitton Paris, the Museo de Bellas Artes de Santander, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia and the New York Public Library Print Collection. The video- and installation artist of Polish origin lives and works in New York and Berlin. (tm)
