Thunderball (United Artists, 1965). Half Sheet (22" X 28"). Ian Fleming collaborated with Kevin McClory and Jack Whittingham on an original story and screenplay for what they intended to be the very first 007 film. Titled "James Bond, Secret Agent," Richard Burton was supposedly the first choice to play James Bond. When Albert R. Broccoli bought film rights to the Bond novels from Fleming, McClory took legal action to claim his share of the rights to this film. As a result, Warner Brothers remade the film in 1983 -- with Connery back as Bond and Broccoli out as producer -- and it went head-to-head with Roger Moore's next entry in the series. This hard-to-find half sheet features the classic images of Bond with the jetpack, in an underwater battle from the fourth film inn the famous series. The once-rolled poster still curls at the edges and has staple holes in the corners, a tiny cluster of ink stains, a missing top-left corner and a fold line down the middle, none of which defeat the glorious James Bond art. Fine/Very Fine.
