(Hanna-Barbera Studios, 1967) Three original production storyboard pages from Fantastic Four, each featuring nine panels, for the episode entitled “Behold a Distant Star.” Accomplished in graphite on untrimmed 12.5 x 10 illustration paper. The scenes illustrated show the characters—Mister Fantastic (Reed), Invisible Girl (Sue), The Human Torch (John), and The Thing (Ben)—attempting to pilot a rocket ship and a violent encounter within the Skrull Galaxy. Produced by Hanna-Barbera, this was the first animated series based on Marvel’s Fantastic Four comics. “Behold a Distant Star” aired as the ninth episode on November 4, 1967; as only 20 episodes were produced, production materials from the show are quite scarce.
