Three barrel tap-action Flintlock pistol with brass body signed “J.N. Jones London” in very good original condition with under mounted spring bayonet. The pistol measures 8-3/4” overall with 2-3/4” barrel group ofapprox 38 cal false rifled. The barrels show 30-50% blue drifting to brown with some spotting and pitting just starting. The brass frame shows sharp engraving and light cleaning long ago now aging back nicely. The grips are very good with some minor marks, normal age. The steel parts show some light new rust and minor pitting and would clean. The bayonet springs quickly and locks properly. Last sold Richard K. Bournecatalogue of James Elwood Jones collection 1981. From an old New York collector’s estate. Est.; $1,500-$3,000.
