Ciani, Louis. LES MONNAIES ROYALES FRANÇAISES DE HUGUES CAPET À LOUIS XVI AVEC INDICATION DE LEUR VALEUR ACTUELLE. Paris, 1926. 502, (2) pages; illustrated. [bound with] Ciani, Louis. PRIX COURANTS DES MONNAIES ROYALES FRANÇAISES DE HUGHES CAPET À LOUIS XVI. Paris, 1928. 97, (3) pages. [bound with] Ciani, P. LES MONNAIES FRANÇAISES DE LA RÉVOLUTION À LA FIN DU PREMIER EMPIRE, 1789 À 1815. Paris, 1931. (2), viii, (2), 168 pages; folding table; illustrated. Tall 8vo [28 by 19.5 cm], later brown three-quarters morocco with marbled sides; spine with five raised bands, lettered in gilt; marbled endpapers. Only slight signs of wear. Near fine and a very attractive volume. The first edition of Louis Ciani’s classic work on the French royal coinage, bound with the infrequently seen Prix courants for that volume issued two years later, and with Pio Ciani’s much scarcer work on the revolutionary era. The binding is of very high quality and is most handsome. Clain-Stefanelli 8902*.
