Trinity Springs, Indiana is located approximately 230 miles East of Anna, Illinois. The potters of Trinity Springs were inspired by the Kirkpatrick brothers and often attempted to mimic pieces they made in clay. Frog mugs were a whimsical item made in the day with a little clay frog applied to the base of the inside of the mug. This lot contains three Trinity Spring Mugs. One is incised with "Trinity Springs, Ind. This mug has a small strap handle applied and a frog applied to the inside. The second frog mug is similar in size and has a reddish glaze a small strap handle applied with white paint on the outside of the mug stating "? Baden Springs, Ind 1904" with a fern drawing. The third mug is a larger medium brown Albany glaze mug with an applied frog in the bottom of the mug and a strap handle applied. Inscribed "Shoals Buny. The two smaller cups are approximately 3" H and 2 1/2" W. The larger mug is 3" H and 3 1/4" W.
