A) French Model 1917 Flare Pistol. The brass frame is marked "Mod. 1917" in script and the matching serials number appear on the left side of the barrel and on top of the receiver nail. Checkered wooden grips with lanyard ring on the butt, with single "V" proof on the rear of frame and barrel.

Condition: Very good. The barrel has a smooth dark brown patina overall with some minor spotting at the breech. The frame has a smooth old aged brass patina. The grips are very good with some minor wear and some minor dings in the checkering.

B) Later production, with brass frame marked in black letters, "Mod. 1917" and matching serial numbers appear on the left side of the barrel and top flat edge of the receiver. Checkered wooden grips with lanyard ring on the butt with a "V" proof on the rear of the frame and barrel.

Condition: Good. The barrel has a mottled brown patina overall with an area of gray on the left with some minor pitting in that area. There is some minor spotting. The brass has a mixed aged patina with a repair on the left recoil shield. The grips are very good with some minor dings and pressure dents

C) The brass frame is marked "Modele 1918" in script and "MECHNICARM" on the left side and the matching serial number appears on the left side of the barrel and on top of the frame nail. There is a larger "V" proof on the rear edge of the frame and left side of barrel. Checkered wooden grips with lanyard ring on the butt.

Condition: Very good. The barrel retains 40% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with some minor to deep pitting. The brass has an even aged patina. There is a large chip missing from the left panel at the top, otherwise the grips are good with some minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering.
