Three Military Tintypes, Civil War and Later
Three Military Tintypes, Civil War and Later. A nice offering of soldiers' images as follows:
Union infantry corporal 1/6th plate tintype. This young fellow's US belt plate and eagle breast plate are quite clear, albeit reversed. He wears a 9-button standard frock coat with chevrons on each arm. His bayonet is hanging from the belt rig. Complete with brass matt. Good tonal contrasts, overall fine condition.
Union infantry private 1/6th plate tintype. Armed with fixed bayonet and possibly dangerous, this recruit wears a sack coat, unadorned cross belt and US oval belt plate. With brass matt, some tinting to image. Very fine condition.
New York National Guardsman 1/4th plate tintype, ca. 1880s. A great outdoors tintype showing an Indian Wars era militiaman wearing the classic M1881 helmet complete with New York State plate. The soldier's coat has indeterminate staff buttons and he's holding a breech-loading rifle with bayonet affixed. Very fine condition and quite scarce.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
