Three Isaac Asimov First Edition Novels. Dr. Isaac Asimov was one of the most prolific writers in human history. He authored books in every major category of the Dewey Decimal system except Philosophy, totaling over 460 author credits at the time of his death in 1992. He was famous for the Asimov writing method: eight hours a day, seven days a week, very few days off. In fact, when asked by his doctor what he would do with six months to live, Asimov replied, "I'd type faster." In his early career, Dr. Asimov wrote science fiction almost exclusively, and remains, to this day, perhaps the most recognizable name in the history of science fiction. These three books are exemplar of Asimov's mastery of the long-form science fiction tale. Three books: The End of Eternity. (New York: Doubleday and Co., 1955), first edition, 191 pages, black cloth with red lettering on spine, 8vo (5.75" x 8.5"), dust jacket (in protective Mylar). This copy is about fine, with only slight edge wear. Name in pencil on front free endpaper and ex-libris bookplate on front paste down.
The Stars Like Dust. (New York, Doubleday and Co., 1951), first edition, 218 pages, black cloth with white lettering on the spine, 8vo (5" x 8"), dust jacket (in protective Mylar). This copy is about very good, with general wear of the dust jacket edges and a noticeable bump of the bottom book edges, especially of front board. Flaps have been slightly clipped, but $2.50 price still shows.
The Gods Themselves. (New York: Doubleday and Co., 1972), first edition, 288 pages, half-cloth binding: black cloth on cover and yellow cloth on spine, with yellow text in a blue field on spine, 8vo (5.75" x 8.5"), dust jacket (in protective Mylar). Deckled fore-edge. This novel won both the Hugo and Nebula awards upon its release. Very good condition. Would be fine, save for a small dent in frontboardand minor edge wear. Jacket has very slight spine wear. Singular opportunity to acquire three Asimov first edition science fiction novels in one place.
