Lot consists of two B.O. Hart bottles from Ferndale, CA, and one from The Alpine, in Eureka, CA, with 2 tokens also from The Alpine. The B.O. Hart bottles include a one-pint round base shoo fly clear flask with natural sun coloring (light violet). Outside unground screw top. Ample air bubbles. Air vents at the shoulders. Slug plate embossed "B.O. Hart Ferndale, Cal". Base embossed "342 x" and the second bottle matches except for a "381" marking on the bottom. A listing for a B.O. Hart bottle was found in R.E. Barnett`s "Western Whisky Bottles No. 4". Although this listing was for a cylinder fifth, Barnett states, "Ferndale bottles are in demand, 1902 only, rare." Bottle 3 is listed in Picnics, Coffins, Shoo-Flies by John L. Thomas. Clear flask with natural sun coloring (light violet). Neatly applied unground top with collar, and air vented at the shoulders. The slug plate is embossed "THE ALPINE W.C. HODGES EUREKA, CAL". In the book, Thomas states "328. THE ALPINE, W. C. HODGES - (1899-1918) William C. Hodges first opened a saloon in Eureka, California in 1899 called the Alpine Bar, which was located at 420 Second Street. Bill Hodges operated this bar until it was closed by Prohibition in 1918." Note: The lot also includes two copper tokens from The Alpine, embossed "Alpine 5" on both sides. Pairings of matching flasks and tokens are rare, and a great opportunity to round out your collections of flasks and tokens! - Feisel Collection -59123
