Lot of four from the First National Bank of Winnemucca. Two are 1900 and George Nixon is Cashier. One is 1904 and Nixon is President. The fourth is 1904, but not Nixon. All are addressed to H. C. Marker of Lovelock. George Stuart Nixon was a United States Senator from Nevada. He was born in Placer County, California. He went to work for a railroad company and studied telegraphy. Later, he was transferred in 1881 to Nevada and organized and became cashier of a bank at Winnemucca, Nevada. He later built an opera house in Reno and a theater in Winnemucca. He became a member of the Nevada Assembly in 1891 and was elected in 1905 as a Republican to the U.S. Senate. He was reelected in 1911 and served until his death in 1912.
