Lot of 3 different. All self-identified as Humboldt County, NV. 1) Olompali Silver Mining Company. Extremely rare. No. 121, issued for 50 shares to E. Machen in 1878 in SF. Signed by the vice president and secretary Cyrus Jones. Not cancelled. Interesting vignette with mine entrance and Native American teepee. Olompali comes from the Miwok Indians north of San Francisco and translates into "southern village." Britton, Rey & Co. Heavy toning. 2) Badger Mill & Mining Company. No. 174, issued for 200 shares in 1875 to MS Martin. Signed by president Collins and secretary Spencer. Not cancelled. Red print and prospector vignette. Heavy folds, some stains. Operated at the mouth of Bartlett Creek west of Quinn River Valley, Humboldt County. 3) Chico Gold & Silver Mining Company. Emerald Lead, Hardin District. 1860s, unissued but signed by John Bidwell as president. Bidwell emigrated to California at 22, became a Mexican citizen, received two Sacramento River land grants, and later sold them to establish the Rancho Arroyo and found the town of Chico. In 1849 James Hardin reported silver in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, sparking creation of Hardin City in 1866 and Bidwell's Chico Gold & Silver Mining Co., but no profitable ore was found and the town was soon abandoned.
