Three Black Americana Cartes de Visite. An incredible group depicting African-Americans as follows:
Slave Nurse and White Child, An attentive black woman of middle years poses here with here young charge. Being Civil War era, this rare image shows the waning days of American slavery.
"Rosa, an Emancipated Slave, from New Orleans", by Kimball, New York City, 1863. This highly publicized portrait shows a student at one of the new Freedmen's schools established in the occupied South. A light-skinned subject was probably chosen to provoke abolitionist sympathies among Northern fence-sitters of the day.
"Native Americans" depicts two lithographed ragamuffins - one back and one white - confronting one another.
