The consignor obtained these three (3) autographs in 1983 by mailing a letter to Hank Aaron, requesting his signature, and included a self-addressed stamped envelope (S.A.S.E.). This lot is accompanied by the original envelope. The lot is being sold as a group so as not to separate any given autograph from the aforementioned envelope. JC-30101-244 Hank Aaron began his professional career in the Negro Leagues. That League disbanded in the years after 1947, when Jackie Robinson became the frst person of color, in decades at least, to play in the National League. Aaron later played in both the American League and National League, ending his career in the mid 1970's, by which time he had accumulated 755 home runs. This was a record not bested until the end of the century. We may never know how many additional home runs, on top of these 755, Aaron hit in Negro Leagues, where statistics were not typically compiled.   JC-30344
