Thrace, Deultum. Maximinus I, 235-238 A.D., AE 17 (4.67 g). Laureate draped and cuirassed bust right/ Sacred stone. Unlisted and rare. Strong strike with nice green patina. VF+. Deultum had the status of a Roman colony and, as such, enjoyed a rich coinage having Latin legends. The die cutting on this bronze is nearly identical to that found on the silver struck in Rome's Imperial mint. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
