ALS signed “Thornton Niven Wilder,” one page, 6 x 6.75, personal letterhead, March 6, 1928. Letter to Miss Allen, in full: "I was indeed glad to hear of you through Miss Gerard and I hope before long I can come in and see you. My grandmother Niven and I were more than usually congenial and I hope we may have a long talk about her. For the present my House duties (The supervision of thirty-two boys) prevents my leaving this village for anything but an occasional evening; but when I find myself free-er it will give me great pleasure to come and see you. Thank you for the encouraging things you have said about The Bridge." In fine condition. Published in 1927 to worldwide acclaim, Wilder's The Bridge of San Luis Rey won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1928.
