Thorndale, TX - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 633 The First NB Ch. # 5882 What this note lacks in condition it certainly makes up for in rarity. Thorndale had only one national bank and despite a total issue of $439,920, only $2,950 was reported outstanding when the bank was liquidated in 1933. This piece is a new addition to the census and represents only the second Series 1902 of six large size notes in total. Even the Philpott/Moody holdings lacks a Third Charter note on this Milam County bank. In fact the last large note on this bank to cross the auction block was in 1998. This $10 was once wet, the signatures are gone, and it has a number of notches, tears, and holes in the paper. No matter what this bank is rare. Very Good-Fine.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
