British author (1785–1859) best remembered for his now-classic memoir of his experiments with drugs, Confessions of an English Opium-Eater. Unsigned autograph manuscript in de Quincey’s hand, 7 x 9.25, four pages on two adjoining sheets. Fragment of a working draft to an unidentified work, with deletions, additions, and corrections in his own hand. In good to very good condition, with light scattered toning and soiling, and heavy paper loss to the right and lower borders, affecting some areas of the text.
