Army officer (1845–1876) and two-time recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor for bravery during the Civil War. He was a younger brother of George Custer, perishing with him at Little Bighorn. Rare ink signature, “T. W. Custer,” on an off-white 3 x 2 lightly-lined slip clipped from a larger General Order, with his rank “1st Lieut. 7th U.S. Cav.,” written under his signature. In fine condition, with a light vertical crease to left side next to opening stroke of signature. Accompanied by an unsigned postcard photo. A scarce signature of Custer’s younger brother, one of only 19 men to have been awarded the Medal of Honor twice.
