<B>Thomas Toby </B></I><B><I>"Texas Scrip"</B></I></B></I><B> Land Grant</B></I>. Four pages, 17" x 10.5", New Orleans, October 10, 1836. This partially printed document grants to <I>"Dobson Williams of the City of Mobile"</B></I> through his agent, Thomas Toby, 640 acres of land in the Republic of Texas according to the instructions of President David G. Burnet. Page two includes a handwritten acknowledgment of the legal transfer of <I>"the rights, title and interest"</B></I> of the land. Page three includes the commission of Thomas Toby as the lawful agent, approved by the Executive Department of the Republic of Texas, Velasco, May 25, 1836, and signed by David G. Burnet and William Christy.
