Signer of the US Constitution from Pennsylvania (1744–1800) and first governor of that state. Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “Tho. Mifflin,” one page, 21 x 11.25, December 11, 1794. As governor of Pennsylvania, Mifflin grants William Bingham “a certain tract of land called ‘Gemund’…containing One thousand one hundred Acres.” Signed in the upper left by Governor Mifflin and countersigned by Deputy Secretary James Trimble. The white paper seal affixed to the upper left remains intact with folds to points. Heavy intersecting folds, a crease to the lower right corner, light scattered soiling, and some irregular ink adhesion to Mifflin’s signature, otherwise fine condition.
