Impressive handwritten letter with choice content, one page, 5.5 x 8.5, April 24, 1937, New York. Writing to a Dr. Alvin Johnson regarding his final thoughts on his visit to The New York School for Social Research, in part, "As I leave this country where I have found so much hospitality, I wish to express once more my admiration for the work of the Graduate Faculty...Judging from my observations, the generous citizens of your free country will rally to the support of this living symbol of intellectual freedom and establish it as a permanent part of American academic life."
