The only resident peer in late colonial America who administered his vast Northern Neck Proprietary from his wilderness estate at Greenway Court, Virginia (1693–1781). Vellum manuscript DS, signed “Fairfax,” one page, 11.75 x 9.5, August 3, 1766. As proprietor of the northern neck of Virginia, Fairfax grants to William Jackson a "Lott of Land on Sleepy Creek." In very good to fine condition, with overall creasing, and some loss to the right edge.
