Partly-printed DS, boldly signed “Th: Jefferson” as President and “James Madison” as Secretary of State, one page, 12.75 x 15, March 28, 1807. A grant for a 1000-acre parcel of land, issued to John Flemming, “a Major for three years,” under the provisions of “An Act to enable the Officers and Soldiers of the Virginia Line on Continental Establishment…” Signed at the conclusion by Jefferson and countersigned by Madison. Double matted and framed with engraved portraits of both Jefferson and Madison, to an overall size of 35.25 x 23. Intersecting folds, some scattered mild toning and wrinkling, Jefferson’s signature uniformly light, but still legible, with Madison’s signature also light, particularly last name, but still mostly legible. The white seal is worn and slightly creased, but still intact, otherwise very good condition. A desirable presidential combination! Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
