Rusk,” one page both sides, 7.75 x 10, April 15, 1839. A petition to President Mirabeau Lamar recommending Mr. Hart for Chief Justice of Nacogdoches County. Signed at the conclusion by eighteen supporters including Rusk. Intersecting folds, overall toning, and show-through from writing to opposing sides, otherwise fine condition.
