One of the wealthiest and most successful Boston merchants (1703-1764) and the uncle of John Hancock. Manuscript DS, one page both sides, 15 x 18.5, August 30, 1751. A very detailed account between Caleb Trowbridge and Hancock between 1748–1750 for a large amount of dry goods, including fabrics (silk, muslin, cotton, and lace), paper, books, shoe buckles, ribbon, knives, Bohea tea, and mourning crepe. Signed on the reverse by Hancock. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, a few small areas of paper loss along folds, and scattered toning, heavier along folds.
