Admiral in the British navy, nephew of Admiral Samuel Graves and a first cousin once removed of Admiral Thomas, Lord Graves. Manuscript DS, signed “Thos Graves,” one page, 7.75 x 5.25, November 4, 1790. A statement of wages paid to a Lieutenant serving aboard the Helena, while Graves was aboard the Cambridge. Signed at the conclusion by Graves. Intersecting folds, scattered toning, primarily to upper portion of document, and pencil notations below signature, otherwise very good condition.
