Partly-printed DS, signed “Thos. A. Edison,” one page, 13 x 8.5, February 18, 1913. Certificate for one share of stock in the Edison Storage Battery Supply Company issued to Harry F. Miller, signed at the bottom by Edison, as the company’s president, and also signed by Miller as treasurer, and signed again on the reverse by Miller. A receipt has been affixed to the left edge of the certificate. In fine condition, with two vertical folds, one through a single letter of signature, four cancellation holes to Edison’s signature, and a “cancelled” stamp to center of document. Miller was Edison’s lab associate in the late 1880s-90s, and then his private secretary. Consignor also notes that his grandfather purchased this certificate from Charles Edison’s chauffeur in the 1970s.
