Original 9 x 7 glossy photo of Edison, clad in a bright white suit, one of his Dictaphone machines to his right, with the mouthpiece in his hand, posing with J. M. Dolley and O. K. Van Ausdall, bearing an Edison copyright in the photo, as well as a stamp on reverse. Reverse also has pencil notations of the negative number and states “Photo taken Aug 12, 1921, Pub. Aug 15, 1921.” In fine condition, with some scattered light surface marks. In 1914, Van Ausdall was chosen as a distributor for the Thomas Edison Company, and its wax cylinder dictating machine.
