Thomas E. Dewey Signature as Governor, New York
Thomas E. Dewey Signature as Governor of New York “Thomas E. Dewey”. 5” x 3”, on State of New York Executive Mansion card, in fine condition. Includes a typed cover letter, 7.25” x 10.5”, on State of New York letterhead, Albany, dated February 12, 1952, signed by Dewey's executive secretary, Lilian G. Rosse, with the usual fold creases, in fine condition with the original mailing envelope. Ever the politician, Dewey has included a 5” x 3” printed card reminding voters to remember to vote for him in an upcoming election, presumably for governor or the card may possibly be leftover from Dewey's 1948 presidential campaign. Thomas E. Dewey (1901-1971), though a career public servant is probably best remembered for the botched newspaper headline in the 1948 presidential election - “Dewey Defeats Truman”.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
