Thomas A. Edison Typed Letter Signed "Thos. A. Edison." One page, 8.5" x 10.75", personal letterhead, Orange, New Jersey, November 29, 1929. The letter was written to Congressman Clyde Kelly, it reads in part, "…Fair competition between manufacturers is a good thing and will inevitably result in fair prices to the public. The competition developed by the price cutting methods of certain retailers is harmful to the legitimate dealer and is of no lasting benefit to the small portion of the public temporarily affected by it…" Edison is, of course, one of the most accomplished inventors of all time, he was one of the first to combine invention with mass production. The letter is in fine condition; usual folds are present; toning is present on the obverse from framing and exposure to light. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.
