This rare flask is in good used condition, with just a few minute traces of the original gilt finish in the recesses of the cannon motif etc. There is just one bump above the carry ring, otherwise, an aged, untouched mellow, finish. The Walker (pattern) flask displays a cannon with a drum lying at an acute angle behind the wheel, and the mortar, has carriage rings on different planes. The bottom panel displays Crossed Paterson Rifles, above Crossed Walker Revolvers, the only Colt flask with all of these distinctions. For comprehensive photographs and description see Pages 65 and 66 in "The History and Identification of Colt Accoutrements 1834-1911" by Robin Rapley. Est. $8,000-$16,000.
