Third Model Brown Bess flintlock musket heavily covered in the middle eastern style showing extensive decorative hammered metal sheeting and barrel bands with numerous small tacks in patterned designs confined to thebutt stock and breech areas of the stock, .70 cal., 39” barrel, wood stock, iron ramrod, crown and “GR” marking on lock plate; hammer securing screw lost long ago. This old workhorse shows an even heavy dark coating of rust and pitting on metal surfaces, lock does not stay on full cock, wood stock shows decades of use, wear and old losses along the edges; the overall appearance of this gun is classic . . . . a remnant of the Britishempire’s reach during the last several centuries and believably could have been in the hands of any middle eastern tribesman within the last 50 years; in our opinion, definitely not a tourist copy but the realthing! Est.: $750-$1,500.
