An interesting collection of nine original vintage matte-finish photographs, including: a 2 x 2.75 photo of an enormous dog greeting President Theodore Roosevelt, affixed to a 5 x 8 sheet, humorously annotated, "Enclosed photo (very rare) of President Roosevelt attacked by a Mountain Lion"; and eight private candid photos of President Woodrow Wilson on a British ship during his December 1918 trip to Europe in the aftermath of World War I, ranging in size from 2.5 x 4.25 to 4.5 x 7.5. These include two casual close-up shots of Wilson on board the ship, one of him shaking hands in front of a pile of luggage, one of him disembarking from the ship, one of him speaking with a group of three men, one of him seated in a carriage, one of him tipping his cap, and one of the ship's exterior. A couple are annotated on the reverse with the name of the photographer. In overall fine condition. On his historic trip—one of the first undertaken by a sitting American president to a foreign land—Woodrow Wilson aimed to negotiate a lasting peace in Europe and advocated tirelessly for the establishment of the League of Nations.
