Partly-printed DS as president, “Theodore Roosevelt,” and as secretary of state, “Wm. H. Taft,” one page, 19.75 x 15, May 3, 1907. Roosevelt appoints Francis B. Upham as “First Lieutenant in the Artillery Corps.” Nicely signed at the conclusion by both Roosevelt and Taft. Blue seal affixed to lower left remains fully intact. Matted to an overall size of 24 x 20. In very good condition, with a repaired horizontal tear to the lower third of the document and overall creases.
