<B>Theodore Roosevelt Military Appointment Signed as President. </B></I> DS "Theodore Roosevelt", one page, vellum, 15" x 19.5", Washington, D.C., June 26, 1905, appointing Henry M. Adams to "<I>Colonel in the Corps of Engineers </B></I>". Countersigned "<I>Robert Shaw Oliver </B></I>" as Acting Secretary of War. Stains and severe discoloration over most of the page, obscuring the signature of the Secretary, but the President's signature is legible. Blue seal in lower left corner, with military vignettes at top and bottom.
