Theodore Roosevelt Pinback Collection
Theodore Roosevelt Pinback Collection. Upon his return from the Spanish-American War, Theodore Roosevelt was elected (narrowly) as governor of New York in 1898. His campaign to root out corruption upset the state's political machine and, to get rid of him, Republican leaders backed him as a running mate for William McKinley's second term. He then became a candidate for the presidency. The 1912 election featured him as the Bull Moose. Twelve pinbacks and four studs comprise this fine lot from the 1912 election. Many of these feature the very image of the bull moose. All of the pins and studs are in excellent condition; two of the studs come on their original backing cards. A great starter lot for a presidential collection
