<B>Theodore Roosevelt Inscribed Signed Photograph</B></I> This monumental sepia portrait carries the imprint of Underwood & Underwood, a studio noted for its fine photographs of political subjects during the early 20th century. Of the many Teddy Roosevelt images we've handled over the past thirty years, this is the first of these we have seen and thusly, it must be considered very rare. In the field above Roosevelt is the following inscription entirely in his hand: "<I>To R.D. Townsend with all good wishes from his friend Theodore Roosevelt July 2d 1912</B></I>". The date is of considerable interest in that it falls after the Republican National Convention nominated Taft, yet before the National Progressive Party Convention nominated Roosevelt. 10.75" x 13.5" in 19.5" x 21.5" wooden frame. Excellent condition.
