This lively and dynamic print by famous artist Theo Tobiasse is entitled "Romeo et Juliette Acte I/III." The artist shows us the moment before the real action of the play begins — the servant signaling the start of the feast where Romeo and Juliet will — finally (after the expository scene iv) — meet and begin their tragic journey towards theatrical immortality. We believe that Juliet, her mother and nurse are standing on the balcony waiting for the guests to arrive:

Born in Palestine in 1927 but raised in occupied Paris, Tobiasse spent the crucial years of his youth in hiding from the Nazis. After the war he worked as a commercial artist until 1961, when he turned to painting full time. He has enjoyed popular and critical recognition worldwide with one-man shows in most major markets including New York, Paris, Tel Aviv, Tokyo and Caracas. According to one art expert: "His paintings transcend history, blending images into one moment-warping time into the present tense; his past, his dreams, mythology, Judaic legends and, biblical stories all inter-twine to become understandable in today's terms." Buyer's Premium: A buyer's premium will be in effect for all auction sales and shall be added to each purchase to reach the total sales price. Although obtained from sources deemed reliable, the Seller and Auctioneer make no warranty or guarantee to the accuracy of the information contained in any auction listing. 13. Entire Agreement; Waiver. This Agreement, including the Universal’s User Agreement and all exhibits and other documents are incorporated herein by reference, set forth the entire understanding and agreement of the parties and supersede any and all other written or oral agreements or understandings between the parties as to the subject matter of this Agreement. In the event of an inconsistency between this Agreement and any other document, which is part of this Agreement, the terms of this Agreement shall govern. From time to time during the term of this Agreement, Universal Collectibles, Universal B&I or Universal Live Auctions may amend this Agreement (including any incorporated documents) by posting the amended terms on any Universal site, emailing notice of the amendment to the Buyer, or otherwise communicating such amendment to the Buyer. Each amendment will be effective immediately after it is initially posted on any Universal site, emailed to the Buyer, or otherwise communicated to the Buyer. The waiver of a breach of any provision of this Agreement will not operate or be interpreted as a waiver of any other or subsequent breach.
